GeoPlace have commissioned ConsultingWhere to carry out a significant study examining the return on investment in address and street data for local authorities.
ConsultingWhere will be examining the costs and the benefits of the address and street data local authorities create under statute. The team will also be examining the onward benefits for other government bodies from this, including Fire and Rescue Services and Police Forces.
A previous economic study was carried out in 2006 examining the financial return of investment from the Local Land and Property Gazetteer. Despite significant case study work in the intervening years, no major new study has been conducted since that time examining the economic value.
The results of the study will be made available next year.
