Please find below information about a forthcoming Local Government Association seminar jointly organised with the AGI Local Public Sector special interest group. The event is taking place on the 29 June in London.
In particular, we would like to draw your attention to the launch of research commissioned by the LGA Group into the value of geographical information. This will be launched at this event. The research is intended to provide an analysis of the financial value of GI for local government /local public services and includes a wide range of case studies.

'Share to Save: How Geographic Information (GI) can equip the public sector to do more with less.
The Local Government Association (LGA) together with the AGI are holding a seminar on the value of geographic information in delivering local public services. Topics covered in the event include:
- exploration of the economic value of GI in local public service delivery underpinned by case studies. This will be through the launch of new
- research carried out by the LGA Group into the value of GI
- exploration of a whole area approach to public services that can lead to better services at less costs
- local intelligence, insight and data sharing: Integrated approaches from local authority and health intelligence networks
The seminar will provide an excellent opportunity for participants from the Local Government and Health sectors to discuss best practice, learn from peer organisations and see where opportunities exist to do more geospatially with less.
