The Data Co-operation Agreement (DCA) defines our work. It’s an agreement that was created between all local authorities in England and Wales and GeoPlace.

As a contract, the DCA defines how the national databases collated by GeoPlace get created and maintained. It provides a governance framework that explains how this arrangement works, and it ensures everyone is meeting their obligations under the agreement.

That includes supplying data (known as authority updates), to agreed levels of compliance. Those terms are set out within the improvement schedule process. If a local authority breaches the terms of their DCA obligations, then their membership of the PSGA may be suspended or terminated.
