The TfL Lane Rental Scheme charges companies that undertake works on the busiest parts of our network, at times when demand from people making journeys is at its highest.
Charging companies in this way, not only encourages them to think differently about how and when they undertake works but incentivises them to consider alternative methods to minimise congestion, while maintaining safety.
The surplus is then reinvested back into the sector through innovative projects and initiatives which aim to improve how works are carried out, driving positive change for the benefit of all.
