HAUC(UK) was established in 1986 with the aim of bringing together
authorities, utilities, contractors and government departments from all 4 UK
nations. The aim is to promote safe and collaborative working whilst improving efficiently
through agreed joint processes, which are based on current legislation and guidance.
Our
working groups collaborate to look at key priorities identified by
HAUC(UK). Due to our work, we are
reducing the impact of street and road works throughout the UK. HAUC(UK)
provides the platform for the industry to move forward and to identify
needs/problems and find solutions. All our groups focus on driving change and improving output
and communication.
Some groups operate continually, monitoring and
contributing toward changes and advice to the sector, whilst others operate
more intermittently and only convene as needed. Each group works with
relevant industry bodies and various government departments from across the
four nations and remain focused on the wider street works
community. The groups are all chaired and attended by volunteers.
Some groups are specifically related to devolved
nations, however they all work towards solutions that support industry
practices and changes across of the whole UK. The
group is currently Chaired by the CEO’s of JAG (Joint Authority Group) and SWUK
(Street Works UK) and we hold meetings 3 times a year as well as an annual
convention where everyone who supports HAUC (UK) can attend.
We are looking to develop our Vision for the next 5 years and have a website where all relevant documents and HAUC (UK) work and members can be found. https://www.hauc-uk.org.uk/
