These awards were judged on overall quality of the LLPG and the LSG, looking at data quality and compliance to the Improvement Schedules.

The winning authorities have all been able to provide a clear message to their peers that a high quality gazetteer can bring with it success and better integration of local data. All authorities have undertaken not only to improve the content of their LLPGs, but also maintain this high standard as part of their day to day gazetteer work. The LLPG Best in Region is based on the top scoring authority in each region across the LLPG Improvement Schedule monitoring statistics.
